The Modern Mat Method

Creating Community, One Campus at a Time.

Our Story

Izzy created The Modern Mat Method to fill a gap in the Tallahassee fitness space—she wanted a workout that kept the fun, upbeat energy of a group class while staying rooted in the classical Pilates movements she fell in love with. The Modern Mat Method honors the fundamental principles of Classical Pilates (control, alignment, breath, and intention) and elevates them with cardio bursts, sculpting sequences, and high-energy pacing—so it feels like a true workout and a mood.

At the heart of MMM is community. Every class and event is designed around the people in the room: approachable for first-timers, challenging for regulars, and always welcoming. Because MMM is portable and event-friendly, we bring the burn anywhere—campus pop-ups, sorority collabs, brand activations, and private groups—creating an experience that feels less like “just a workout” and more like your favorite weekly reset with friends.

Izzy is currently training in Classical Pilates Education’s 600-hour Comprehensive Program, earning certification to teach across a full range of Classical Pilates apparatus—including the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, and more. With this advanced training, she’s bringing even more of Joseph Pilates’ original method to college campuses across the country.
